SOUTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD AND REGIONAL WATER BOARD NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR RIGHTS IN RESPECT OF NATURAL WATER PURSUANT to Section 24 (3) of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967, public notice is hereby given that the following applications have been received by the board under Section 21 (3) of the said Act, for rights as stated below:— THE DISTRICT COMMISSIONER OF WORKS, Ministry of Works and Development, P.O. Box 1479, Christchurch. (a) To take up to 289,000 cubic metres of water per week from underground (10 wells) at a maximum rate of 477 litres per second, and (b) to discharge up to 289,000 cubic metres of water per week into Deals, Windermere and Home Paddock Drains at a maximum rate of 477 litres per second. To supplement natural flow In those drains for spray irrigation of 2540 hectares of land Included within the Eiffelton Community Group Irrigation Scheme(supercedes previous public notice of May 20,1985 — previously W.R. 2520/1 and 2698).
