Separate school
South Australia has decided to set up Australia’s first separate state primary school for Aborigines in spite of opposition from some local residents. The school will be in Adelaide’s northern outskirts. The area’s Independent Labour member of Parliament, Martyn Evans, said putting a new school exclusively for Aborigines next to an existing school would create the potential for confrontation. — Adelaide.
