Colts team named
PA Wellington Six Wellington players are included in the New Zealand colts hockey team to play Japan in August and tour Australia next year. Wellington turned in an inspired display to beat Auckland, 2-0, in the final of the New Zealand colts tournament at the national stadium on artificial turf at Wellington on Saturday. Duncan Lints and Steve McJorrow scored the winning goals for Wellington in the final. The New Zealand colts team
is: Graeme Armstrong, Graeme Burnett, Mike Davis, Guresh Dayal, Craig Grimshaw, Jetu Parag (Wellington), Shayne Brasting, Rodney Journeaux (Wanganui), Geoff Coldham, Mark Kake, Mark Leaver, Paresh Patel, James Smith, Anthony Thornton (Auckland), David Penfold, captain, John Radonovich (Canterbury). Final results: Wellington 2, Auckland 0, 1 and 2; Canterbury 6, Otago 1, 3 and 4; Northland 1, Hawke’s Bay 0, 5 and 6; Hamilton 4, Manawatu 0, 7 and 8; Wanganui 3, Taranaki 0, 9 and 10.
