Airline staff rewarded
PA Wellington Qantas had rewarded two Air New Zealand workers in Wellington for spotting an $ll,OOO air ticket. The ticket for a first-class fare had been stolen from a London travel agent and validated with a Qantas plate, also thought to have been stolen, said the airline’s central region manager, Mr Don Menzies. He said that to reward
the two members of the Air New Zealand staff, Mrs Sybil Billington and Mr Bill Deakin, Qantas had decided to give them each a cheque for $lOO. As well, Mrs Billington received a silk scarf, Mr Deakin a travelling bag, and both received toy koalas. Police inquiries into the origin of the ticket were continuing in London, said Mr Menzies.
