Cricket abandoned
NZPA-AAP Nottingham The Australian cricketers lost their second successive day’s play due to rain yesterday when the one-day match against Nottinghamshire was abandoned. An inspection at 1.40 p.m.
convinced the umpires, Jack Birkinshaw and John Jameson, that the Trent Bridge ground was unfit for play. The Australians’ next match is a 55-over one-day fixture against Surrey at The Oval, London.
