Party leader stranded
Timaru reporter
Bad weather in Wellington yesterday revented the leader of the New Zealand Party, Mr Jones, from flying to Timaru to launch his party’s by-election campaign.
Mr Jones was to have opened the campaign at a meeting at Timaru’s Theatre Royal last evening but the closing of Wellington Airport stranded him in the capital.
The party’s opening meeting of the Timaru campaign will now be held on May 22.
