‘Robbery’ for new TV show
PA Wellington The film shot during an ill-fated mock bank robbery in Petone yesterday was for a new four-part television documentary series to be screened early next year, said the director, Mr Mike Single. The police were angry about not being warned that the “robbery” was being staged. Each programme in the yet-to-be-named series would last 30 minutes, and deal with an aspect of human nature. The 45-second clip of the bank robbery would be part of a programme on memory, he said. The film clip would be shown to a studio audience who would then be questioned to see what they remembered. “The idea is to show how short term people’s memories are,” Mr Single said. “The human memory involves selective recall, not like a film camera which records everything.” The three other programmes in the series would be about anger, attraction, and taking things at face value, he said.
