PA Auckland The Westfield Freezing Company has pledged to meet stock transport costs of up to $lOO,OOO resulting from the strike by 1300 workers on Monday.
About 7000 lambs and cattle left behind after the walk-out have been taken back to farms.
The general manager of Westfield, Mr Alan Parker, said the company had undertaken to pay the transport costs. The striking workers are expected to vote today, for the third time in six days, whether to end the 14-day dispute over a work study programme.
