PA Hamilton A share in a $1,395,688 football pool won by a Huntly Power Station syndicate is being sought by a former staff member. Kuldip Singh Thandi, a former unit operator of Huntly but now of Auckland, claims he was a member of an 11-man syndicate which won the British Littlewoods Pools in December, 1981.
Ten other men deny he was a member of the syndicate. A defended hearing is taking place in the Hamilton High Court this week before Mr Justice Gallen. Mr A. L. Hassell is appearing for Mr Thandi and Mr R. L. Fisher and Mr R. C. G. McDermott for the 10 defendants. The hearing is expected to last several days.
