Dismissed policeman to appeal
PA Wellington A Wellington police constable, dismissed last week for five breaches of police regulations, has decided to appeal against his dismissal. No date has yet been set for the three-member Police Appeals Board to hear the case, reported the “Dominion.”
The board will comprise a Hamilton District Court Judge, Mr J. E. Miller, as chairman, and one representative each of the Police Commissioner and the Police Association.
The constable, aged 24, was found guilty of five breaches of police regulations by a police internal discipline tribunal early last week.
Some of the charges related to the misuse of confidential information from the Wanganui Computer Centre; the others were more serious, said a police national headquarters spokesman last week.
