Robbers fade in to crowd
NZPA-AP Beverly Hills A couple who robbed a jeweller of up to SUSI million ($2.2 million) knew how to fade into the crowd: the man wore a beige suit and toted a briefcase, the woman “looked like a movie star,” said Los Angeles police.
The hold-up at the Joseph Jewelry store on Brighton Way occurred on Saturday and the robbers are still on
the loose. “It’s quite unusual, but for Beverly Hills they would fit right in,” said Lieutenant Frank Sarver said. The couple had initially asked if the store was interested in buying an antique brooch, Lieutenant Sarver said. “The male produced a blue steel automatic pistol from his briefcase,” and one of the owners was forced at gunpoint to open the safe.
