Polytechnic fees increased
Fees for Christchurch Polytechnic courses will be increased 10 per cent for second and third-term enrolments this year. A meeting of the Polytechnic Council last evening decided on the recommendation of the council’s policy and resources committee to increase enrolment fees.
All departments were working on a very tight budget and some courses
were under-priced, said the committee chairman, Mr Frank Crothall. The whole fee structure should be looked at, he said. Mr Dave Kerr, a director, said that the cost of materials for courses had increased, mainly because of devaluation and other increases.
“We do not want to see students have to go without these materials,” said Mr Kerr.
