First soccer win
Prince of Wales finally was able to celebrate after the fourth round of the Sunday Soccer League. The division one team had its first win and also scored its first league goal of the season. The division leader, Dux de Lux, had a narrow win against Excelsior. The second, third and fourth divisions are led by North Beach A, Lyttelton and Bumcastle, respectively. Results were.—
Division one.— Woolston Foundry A 3, Avonhead 1; Prince of Wales 1, Christchurch Hillsborough A 0; Dux de Lux 1, Excelsior 0; Forester’s 2, Valley Inn A 1. Division two.— DB Imperial A 3, Wigram 0; Zig Zag 8, Ham 4; Woolston Foundry B 2, Pharoahs 1; North Beach A 4, Air New Zealand A 1.
Division three.— Dux de Lux B 1, Anderson and Hill 0; Lyttelton 4, North Beach B 0; D B Imperial B 2, Templeton 2; DB Riccarton 6, Christchurch Hillsborough B 1. Division four.— Spruce Services 6, Trusteebank 3; Vision Aluminium 10, Valley Inn C 1; Burncastle 5, Air New Zealand B 3; Valley Inn B 2, MicoWakefield 2.
