Book review
David Eason, aged 10, of Christchurch, wrote a long story called “World War m.” It was too long to be considered as a prizewinner, but he also wrote the following review of the story:
After I had written my story, World War 111, I thought, “I am going to make three copies — one to have at home, one to sell and one for anyone to read (but after one week I will sell that one too). But how will I get them to buy my books?” I thought. Then I
got an idea — make an advertisement.
So I made an ad. for my book, using the colours black, green, brown, orange, grey, red and pink. The characters are called Justin, Jonathon, Jeffrey, Gerard and me. I though $1 would be a good price, so I fixed it at that. I wrote down these words on my ad: “New! The one and only! Great for your children! If your son loves war stories, easy to read and packed with action” and a few other sentences.
