Pre-selling trial
PA Wellington The Totalisator Agency Board will assess the demand for a reintroduction of pre-selling on midweek races in a series of trials starting shortly. The board will investigate the demand for pre-selling on a national, regional and local basis.
Selling on an event of national interest, such as the Melbourne Cup, would
open at all offices on the day before the race. For a metropolitan meeting, preselling will take place in the region concerned and surrounding districts. For a local meeting pre-selling will occur only at offices in the vicinity of the meeting. A notice will be displayed in all offices each Saturday
advising what meetings will be pre-sold in the following week.
