A bus designed to cater for handicapped people, in wheelchairs or on stretchers, has been put into service between Bamberg and Frankfurt-on-Main, West Germany. The bus cost about $430,000 to build. It is equipped with an electric hoist to lift the wheelchairs into the bus, where they are clamped into position.
