Margaret smokes at awards
NZPA-PA London Princess Margaret was smoking in public again yesterday, three months after lung surgery. She lit up at least twice when she made a television and radio awards presentation in London. The Princess, who is 54, had a small part of her left lung removed early in January. Doctors said that it had proved to be “innocent.” Since then there have been reports that she has been unable to give up smoking despite warnings. Princess Margaret was presenting awards on behalf of the Television and Radio Industries Club at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London. She looked healthy and cheerful, spending much of her time during a formal lunch chatting to David Frost, the television personality, who announced the awards.
