Settlement upsets militants
NZPA-Reuter Copenhagen A labour dispute involving 300,000 private sector workers that was crippling Denmark’s economy has ended with a settlement imposed by the Government but militants threatened wildcat disruption. Trade unions, faced with
the prospect of heavy fines, said they would obey a return-to-work order by Parliament ending the eight-day strike over pay. The. settlement was rushed through the Folketing (Parliament) in time to stop strikes spreading to
some public sector workers. Many postmen, airport security staff and customs officials were among workers threatening stoppages in protest against the settlement terms. All police leave has been cancelled in Copenhagen and Zealand, the police said.
