A young woman died yesterday after this car ran off the road between Governor’s Bay and Charteris Bay, about 2km south-east of Teddlngton, and hit a tree.
She was Sonja Robin Dekkers, aged 19, of Christchurch.
The police and an ambulance were called to the scene about 2.10 p.m. The other occupant of the car, a man, suffered minor injuries.
A police spokesman was uncertain who was driving the car when the accident happened.
