Firm branches out
Safe R Brakes, Ltd, are opening new premises in Durham Street today.
The firm of brake specialists, which already has a hghly regarded business in Fitzgerald Avenue, has built a large modern 594.56 sq m workshop at 45 DurhamStreet to cope with the growing demand for good quality repairs on brakes and clutches. The business was established in 1949 in Mollett Street, and moved to Fitzgerald Avenue in 1968. The Fitzgerald Avenue branch will continue the brake and clutch repairs and supply of parts using a staff of about
20. Besides opening the new branch at Durham Street, Safe R Brakes will offer a 12-month (or 12,000 km) guarantee on all work done at both workshops. The general manager of Safe R Brakes, Mr Barry Briggs, says the new warranty scheme, which is similar to schemes offered in Australia, is part of the company policy to offer the best service possible to the public. The business can offer any service which is connected to the complete servicing and supply of parts for brakes and clutches.
This includes drum, disc machining (on arid off the vehicle), cable manufacturing, pressure bleeding and shoe relining. Brake pipes can be made while the customer waits and there is a same-day bonding service. A reconditioning and exchange service can be done for power brakes, wheel cylinder and master cylinders, calipers, compressors and exhausters. There are three alternatives on cylinder repairs: replacement, brass sleeved and reconditioned, all of which carry the 12-month or 12,000 km warranty.
