Golfing appointment

The secretary-manager of the Manukau Golf Club, Grant Clements, has been appointed executive director of the New Zealand Golf Association. He succeeds John Bromley who resigned from the position to pursue a career in a management consultancy. Mr Clements is a former Bay of Plenty representative golfer, playing in two Frey-

berg Rose Bowl tournaments and captaining two Garrard Shield teams.

He has a strong background in tournament organisation and course preparation and has been involved in golf administration since 1973 when he joined the executive of the Mount Maunganui Golf Club. He was club captain and club president of that club.
