Triathlon championship
PA Wellington The inaugural New Zealand triathlon championship will be held at Otaki, near Wellington, on Saturday, May 12. The New Zealand Multisport Association has said that the. championship would consist of a 34km cycle course, a 7.5 km run, a 9km canoe event and a;
second 7.5 km run. The event will be over a similar course to the 1984 Steinlager triathlon which attracted nearly 400 competitors. Negotiations are proceeding with a number of international triathletes, the association said, and details would be released as soon as they were completed.
