Kelvin Duff, who was unavailable for last Saturday’s match against Otago, has been included in the Canterbury men’s league basketball team to play a doubleheader against the visiting Australian league team, the Hobart Tassie Devils, in Canterbury this week-end. Duff, a newcomer to the representative squad this year, made his league debut in the first match against Otago on March 9 but was unavailable last week-end because of work commitments. This week-end he replaces the New Zealand representative, Dave Ed-
monds, who is still uncertain about his employment this year. Canterbury will play The Tasmanian side at Burnham this evening and again at Cowles Stadium tomorrow afternoon. Three of the six Christchurch club sides have announced their squads for the new season. The co-selectors of the champion club side, Vistal-ite-High School Old Boys, Kim Luxton and Rod Dew, have brought in four new players to their 11-man squad. They include three former B grade players, Paul Dug-
gan, a forward-guard, Paul Dew, a forward, and Glen Lang, a guard. The other newcomer is Lloyd Dunstan, a centre who has played for Otago. Butler-Auto SparesY.M.C.A. has lost several players. So far the coach, Daryl Symonds, has announced only a seven-man squad, although this will be increased before Easter. The Admiral LodgeCheckers side will be led by the Americans, Clyde Huntley and Eddie McLeod, but they will be needed for representative duty for lost of the season.
