Filly trying for triple crown
NZPA staff correspondent Sydney In the SAust 150,000 Rosehill Guineas at Rosehill today, the filly, Spirit of Kingston, will be making a bid to rewrite the history books by becoming the onlyfemale to win the Sydneytriple crown, something her half-sister Rose of Kingston almost managed three years ago. Rose of Kingston came to grief in the 1982 Rosehill Guineas, and Spirit of Kingston must clear that hurdle to hold the second leg going into the sAust4oo,ooo A.J.C. Derby next month. Among those hoping to be in her way today are the three-year-old New Zealander, Dusky Legend and the highly-rated Sir Tristram filly, Trichelle. Dusky Legend was in the country only a few days before he went out against Spirit of Kingston in the Canterbury Guineas a fortnight ago, and the best he could manage was seventh.
