A Riccarton property suitable for development sold for ?78,000 at auction last week.
The property of 51 perches (1290 sq m), is at the corner of Mona Vale Avenue and Ayr Street. It was an ideal site for units or motels, said the auctioneer, Mr Phil Alexander, for Sherris and Robertson, Ltd. Bidding was brisk from among about 10 people at the on-site auction.
The buyer was a development company, he said.
A chicken farm at Templeton failed to sell at auction on Wednesday. It was passed in at $230,000. This was not far below the reserve and a private sale was being negotiated, said Mr Ken Sharplin, for Packard Real Estate, Ltd.
