Girl found
A girl missing from Kingslea Girls’ Home in Christchurch since February 5 had been found in Nelson. Fears had been growing for the safety of the girl, Sharon Jayne Churchill, aged 14, but she is safe and well.
Durham Towers, a proposed 13-storey apartment block at the comer of Durham Street and Kilmore Street, opposite the future Parkroyal Hotel in Victoria Square. The drawing was prepared by Warren and Mahoney, who are the architects of the Parkroyal Hotel and designed the Christchurch Town Hall.
Williams Property Holdings, Ltd, has an option on the land until December this year and is preparing plans for the development. The company’s chief executive, Mr Arthur Williams, said in a report that a decision on whether the option on the site was taken would be made within a month, subject to directors’ approval.
