King Farouk became the inaugural Autolodge miler of the year this season with his Imin 56.8 s win at the New Zealand Cup meeting in November.

His connections were presented with the awards at a function in Christchurch last evening, including a $5OO trophy (a framed charcoal drawing) of their former pacer.

Class records for the miler of the year award are: Imin 58s or better CO- - Imin 56.8 s or better for C5-C7 and Imin 56s or better for CB-OC.

Also, the trainer-driver of a class winner next season will take away $3OO, which is up $5O on the initial series. The inaugural competition was run between September and the Pan Am Mile meeting at Addington last month, however the next series will run for a year, starting with the first night of the Easter carnival later this month and end at the Pan Am Mile meeting next February.
