Bootlegger triumphs

In a race influenced by a marked switch of wind during the middle stages. Bootlegger (Keith Drayton and Brian Hanlon) proved the best of the first-division yacha in a recent harbour race held by the Ranks Peninsula Cruising Club. Rockabye (Steve Rose) won on handicap. The race began in a southwesterly wind, which lightened up considerably and then swung to the north-east. That change meant that the fleet closed up, and. in the first division seven beau finished within a minute.

Rockabye also took the honours in a'second harbour race which became a trial of frustration because of a lack of wind. The race should have taken about two boors and a halt m-.tead if took double that, even with a shortened course. Five yachts withdrew.
