Diving trebles

Jason Snell and Kim Hudson, both from Waikato, each won their third titles at the B.N.Z. national diving championships at Queen Elizabeth II Park yesterday. Snell was an easy winner of the boys under 14 years tower, but Hudson’s winning margin in the girls under 14 tower was less comfortable. Hudson, however, did set a new best points score for the grade. She totalled 206.35, which was almost 10 points more than the previous highest score set by the runner-up, Tania Paterson (Waikato), last year. Paterson also bettered her old best total of 196.50.

The minor placings in the men’s three metre springboard held on Monday night were confirmed yesterday. Wayne Taumata (Auckland) was second with 434.67

points and David van der Zwan (Manawatu) third with 414.57.
