PA Wellington Boat-builders, furniture makers and sawmillers turned out for the first Forest Service log auction, at Puriri, near Thames at the week-end. Top prices were $llOO for a 4.6 cubic metre kauri log, and $lO7O for a 6.9 cubic metre rimu log. The total reserve figure was exceeded.
