Houses without water

Some residents near Victoria Park, Cashmere, were without water last evening. A Heathco f e County Council employee, Mr Keith Delamare, said that probably about 15 or 20 houses near the park had problems with their water supply last evening, judging from the number of residents who had telephoned him. Most still had some water

but were having problems with the low pressure. Two had no water at all, he said. There was little that the council could do apart from encouraging people to use less water in the unusually hot weather. “It is as simple as that, if people use their common sense ... they would have water in their houses,” he said.
