Pasture seeds conference

Growing and using pasture seeds will be the topic of a special conference being held at Lincoln Col-

lege in May by the Grassland Association. Seed growers, those marketing pasture seeds, and

advisers and consultants recommending grass and legume cultivars will be at the conference. Sessions on seed production will take in chemical aids, white clover, quality and contamination in seed crops. Two field tours will cover seed processing and herbage seeds in use. On using herbage seeds there will be sessions on high country, steep hill country, East Coast dryland, finishing country and dairying pastures. A panel will discuss the effective use of herbage cultivars. During the conference, being held from May 13 to May 15, there will be static displays of seeds, equipment and machinery, seed testing, seed marketing, and the use of grasses and clovers. The conference is being organised by the seed trade, Federated Farmers, the Seed Promotion Council, the M.A.F., the D.S.I.R. and agricultural education centres.
