Recorded a good fourth and then a second to Select Wave at the Nelson meeting. Has drawn well and looks ready to win. Has won three of his last six races and has been a minor placegetter in the others so should take beating again tomorrow despite his 59kg. WASKATO AMBER’S BOY (Race 5) ch h, 4 yrs, by Decies — Maui Queen; trained at Matamata by D. and P. O’Sullivan. Has finished close at his last three attempts and should cap off those placings with a well-deservea victory against moderate opposition tomorrow. WAIROA EPPING VALLEY (Race 1) b m, 4 yrs, by Avon Valley — Pamvid; trained by R. King at Woodville. Close second to Chicago Peace on the course last Saturday and should go one better tomorrow.
