Satiny’s Pride relegated
Satiny’s Pride, which finished third equal in the Meadow Mushrooms Quality Handicap at Riccarton yesterday, was relegated to fifth for causing interference to the originally fifthplaced Pounding 100 m from the finish.
Satiny’s Pride (G. N. Davison) was found to have shifted ground inwards quickly when struck with the whip and inconvenienced Pounding (G. A. Phil-
lips), which was racing on his inside. She again rolled inwards and hampered Pounding in the closing stages of the race. The judicial committee relegated Satiny’s Pride to fifth, promoting Pounding to fourth.
Rojeeni, which finished fourth in the Bollinger Champagne Handicap, was found to have bled from one nostril after the running of the race.
