Service station robbed

PA Blenheim Two armed robbers are thought to have got away with about $lO,OOO when they held up a Blenheim service station on Sunday morning. The robbery took place at 4 a.m. when only one attendant was on duty inside the locked building. The attendant, Jeff Seymour, aged 22, told the police that two men presented what looked like a firearm and demanded money. He was unable to give a description of the pair who were wearing crash helmets and made their getaway on a motorcycle. Detective Sergeant Maurice Ashby, of the Blenheim C. 1.8., said the police had been told the robbers used a small handgun with a barrel about the size of a pencil.

The service station’s owner-manager, Mr Martin Anthonise, could not say

exactly how much money was stolen. Only Saturday’s takings were on the premises. The previous day’s takings had been banked that night.
