Chiasso to miss Washdyke race
J. J. BOYLE
Chiasso has missed a couple of gallops after bruising a foot and will not run in the Waugh Handicap, third leg of the Timaru Racing Club’s T.A.B. treble and the T.A.B. trifecta race at Washdyke tomorrow. Grant Davison, who has done much of the riding for the John Bourne stable, will now ride Donizetti in the Waugh Handicap.
Davison has a full book at Washdyke tomorrow, and his hopeful for the weight-for-age Timaru Cup will be Noble Note. Since he ran Clansman close in last year’s Timaru Cup, Noble Note has ranged wide and far while extending an excellent winning record. His wins this year include two in Brisbane, each time when ridden by Davison. His three starts since his return from Australia have yielded a win, a second and a fourth, and that background will probably assure him of favouritism in the first leg of tomorrow’s T.A.B. double. Davison’s other mounts at Washdyke are Yum, Demolish, Demonstrate, Sweet Sue, Red Lancer, Mansfield, Miracle Mouse, and Mainstream. EARLY SELECTIONS 11.45: Another Look, Yum, Sea Law. 12.20: Demonstrate, Elsie, Satiny’s Pride. 12-55: Archaic, Miss Tiger Lil, Million Joys. 1.30: Sweet Sue, Briny Girl, Mabrooka. 2.05: Mansfield, Lord Verulam, Janse Lee. 2.40: Miss Shavary, Pasqua, Famillion. 3.20: Noble Note, Penduiyn, Gaelic Bid. 3.55: Mainstream, Ponchielli, Tres Bon Heir. 4.30: Cahir, Royal Adder, Miracle Mouse. 5.05: Donizetti, Eggnog, J«st From Beechwood.
