Danseuse Etoile works well
Special correspondent Dunedin Danseuse Etoile showed fitness to resume racing when she worked at Wingatui yesterday morning. Danseuse Etoile ran 800 m with Haniman and Avalanche Peak in 50.3 s on an easy inside grass. Danseuse Etoile won twice at Riverton in April and was twice placed in nine starts last season. She injured a leg in the starting gates at Gore in May and she was put aside after one further start. She is engaged at the Otago meeting on Saturday. Avalanche Peak is a two year-old Smuggler-Amerle colt, owned and trained by “Snow” Fraser. Imposing Lad boosted his chance for Saturday when
he sprinted 800 m with Manila and Noble Ella in 50.45. Jubilee Boy and Leisure Lass came away from Bon Fier at the. finish of 1000 metres in a smart 1:3.6, the last 800 m in 50.65. Bon Fier had joined in at the 800 m. The promising two-year-old Random Chance ran 800 m with De Toscane in 50.45. Other 800 m gallops were; My Anui, 51s, last 600 m with Baliway in 39.65; Vice Royal, 51.25; Heights of Honey and Briny Girl, 51.25. Heights of Honey will miss the Second Wilson and her trainer, Leslie Didham, has taken the mount on You Rang Sir. Heights of Honey will be reserved for either the Timaru or Kurow meetings.
