W.D.F.F. boosts pupils’ bursaries
The Women’s Division of Federated Farmers has boosted its bursaries for post-primary pupils to mark the division’s sixtieth anniversary next year. Three more sixth-formers and seventh-formers from country areas will be financially helped by the division next year. The division already assists 12 students each year. The extra students are Lisa McLellan, of Bainham, Nelson; Angus McCraith/of Broadwood, Northland; and Susan Burridge, of Raupunga, Hawke’s Bay. The division has also awarded text book grants to 11 tertiary students. They are: Janice Barr, clothing design and fashion
at Wellington Polytechnic, Jeanne Harborne, bachelor of food technology at Massey University, Brian Hutchings, diploma in agriculture at Lincoln College; Cleane Jessep, student at. Christchurch Teachers’ College; Diane Lea, bachelor of science at Massey University; Karen McKee, bachelor of management studies at Waikato University; Christina O’Boyle, student at Hamilton Teachers’ College; Wendy Slatter, home science at Otago University; Lynette Van Rouyen, management at Waikato University Lynda Watson, surveying at Otago University; and Helen Weir, medical science course at Otago Medical School.
