.■ Sir, — New Zealand’s archaic laws regarding. animals used in research need to be carefully examined and alternative methods emphasised and put into force. The National Animals Ethics Advisory Committee for the protection, of animals used in research set up by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Moyle, has no group actively opposing vivisection represented. If this committee is really serious about , protecting laboratory animals it should include a member or members of a group which strongly supports anti-vivisection. — Yours, etc.,■ ANTHEA HOWE.
