Half-day stoppage
Killing resumed at the Islington works of Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating, Ltd, yesterday morning after a halfday stoppage.
Three hundred workers walked off the job on Wednesday afternoon after the start of a case in the District Court involving Waitaki and the Meat Workers’ Union. In the court case, the Labour Department was prosecuting the union for failing to give three days notice of a strike last May.
