Cricket tour in doubt
PA Wellington A proposed tour of India by the New Zealand women’s cricket team in February is in jeopardy through communication problems partly associated with the assassination last week of India’s Prime Minister, Mrs Indira Gandhi. The tour was scheduled to leave New Zealand about February 12 for five or six weeks.
At the last meeting of the New Zealand Women’s Cricket Association,, moves were begun to seek information from India on venues and itinerary. But since then, the death of Mrs Gandhi has slowed negotiations.
