Children who entered the kewpie doll colouring competition, sponsored by the Christchurch Repertory Society, went to a lot of trouble preparing their entries, said the judge, Penny Giddens, artistic director for the society. The standard of entries was high and the society was delighted with the response, she said. The winners were:— 10 years and oven Samantha Marshallsay, aged 11, 74 Buckleys Road, Christchurch 6,1; Jane Turner, aged 11, 20 Slater Street, Shirley, runner-up. Under 10 years: Michelle Blanchard, aged 8, 12 Glenharrow Avenue, Christchurch 4,1; Nicola Moore, aged 7, 10 Rydale Street, Christchurch 2, runner-up. Prizes of book vouchers of ?10 for the winner of each section and ?5 for the runners-up, provided by the Repertory Society, will be posted to the successful entrants.
