Attack vengeance
NZPA-Reuter Jerusalem An Israeli soldier said in court yesterday that he had made the fatal rocket attack on an Arab bus on October 28 to avenge the “spilling of Jewish blood” ’ when two young hikers were -killed. David Ben-Shimol, aged 18, was remanded in custody for 15 days. One Arab was killed and 10 wounded, in the attack, which happened days after the shootings of two young Israeli hikers near the occupied West Bank town of Bethlehem. A Palestinian was arrested for the shootings. The police said that BenShimol would be charged with firing the rocket. In his court statement, Ben-Shimol said: “I did the thing i out of sorrow and pain.”:
