Future in balance
PA Wellington Mark Todd and Charisma’s world-beating partnership in three-day eventing still hangs in the balance, after a meeting between Todd and the gelding’s owner, Fran Clark, was postponed today. Todd, who rode Charisma to a gold medal at the Los Angeles Olympics and to
second place at Badminton this year, arrived back in New Zealand on Saturday and was due to have met Mrs Clark yesterday. But he said last evening that he would not be meeting her until tonight. Todd’s sponsors have leased Charisma for 10c and paid all the pair’s expenses, but the lease expires this month.
