Computer budgeting
Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd, has developed a micro computer farm budget reporting system called Datamaster, designed to help farmers in budgeting and monitoring farm performance. The company will have Datamaster on display at the Canterbury show as well as Deermaster, a recording and reporting system for deer farmers. Pynes recently become an authorised Apple Computer dealer and will have three computers at the show. Mr Richard Francis, company director and manager of P.G.G. Computer Services, said Apple computers had the capacity to accept a wide range of software options including those from Agricultural Computer Services of Napier, Farmplan International, and the Kellogg Unit at Lincoln College. After 15 years in data processing, Mr Francis said he was convinced of the advantage to farm managers of a small business computer system.
