Memories of nursing
PA Wellington The experiences of nurses up to a .century ago have been recorded for posterity. The Nursing Education and Research Foundation has compiled an oral history of nursing, taping interviews with 185 former nurses, including one born in 1883. Experiences varied from a dramatic account of an Army nurse‘who survived the sinking of the Marquette in 1915 to descriptions of daily routine such as sprinkling damp tea to settle dusty wards in the 19305, the National Library said.
