THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1977 RANGIORA DISTRICT COUNCIL DISTRICT SCHEME PROPOSED CHANGE No. 8 (Dispensations and Waivers) PURSUANT to resolution made on the 23rd day of October, 1934, the Rangiora District Council has initiated the following Change to the District Scheme. PROPOSED CHANGE No. 8 This Change proposes to amend the district scheme provisions dealing with dispensations and waivers. The proposed amendments come as a response to a recent High Court decision which stated that the Wellington City District Scheme provisions for dispensations and waivers were invalid. Although the provisions of the Rangiora District Council District Scheme are not identical Council now feels that they suffer from the same deficiency in terms of the decision. Council therefore proposes to introduce quantitative and spatial limits to dispensations and waivers so that the extent to which they may be granted is more clearly defined. Submissions and objections shall be in writing in Form C, available at the Council’s office, as prescribed in the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1978 or to the like effect and shall be lodged with the County Cleric, Rangiora District Council, P.O.
