Demolition of the former Bishop Julius Anglican women’s hostel in Cranmer Square continued yesterday. The building was a hostel for Christchurch Teachers’ College and University of Canterbury women students between 1924 and 1972. When the University of Canterbury moved to Ilam, the building was sold. In recent years, it has been a bed-and-breakfast lodging house.
