Princess man-handled in her car

NZPA-Reuter Paris Princess Stephanie, the younger daughter of Prince Rainier of Monaco, was attacked by an armed man and a masked woman outside her Paris apartment earlier this week, the Paris police said yesterday. The Princess, aged 19.

had arrived home from work and was about to drive into her garage in the exclusive sixteenth Arrondissement when a man forced his way into her car. He pointed his revolver at her and pushed her over into the passenger seat, a police spokesman said. Princess Stephanie

shouted and screamed, and her attackers ran away. The police said it was unclear whether the couple had intended to abduct or just attack her because they had made no demands. The Princess, who was shocked but not hurt, works as an assistant to Marc Bohan, the House of Dior

couturier. She lives in the Paris residence of Prince Rainier, who was at home at the time. A spokeswoman for the family said the avenue was dark, and Princess Stephanie has been unable to get a good look at either the woman,- whose face was half covered, or the man.
