Mr Wallbank said that the; education exercise should be ■ along the lines of the “Roadshow” road safety awareness programme using the combination of shock tactics, music, and drama.
That programme was exceptionally effective in get-
ting a message across to secondary school pupils because it presented the dangers clearly and in a form they could relate to, he said. “ “A similar awareness programme on the dangers of solvent sniffing should be mounted to tell every primary and intermediate school pupil of the dangers,” he said. L’
“Our first task must be to get the message across to young people that sniffing solvents and other chemicals addles the brain and can kill.”
